Out of all of your favorite books, pick just one you'd recommend everyone read. As a bonus: why did you pick that one?

Monstrous Regiment, by Terry Pratchett. It's a Discworld book, but you don't have to read any of the other books in the series to understand it. I love it because it is hysterically funny, but at the same time it also makes you think. And its premise is that gender doesn't matter, people are just people, which is something I've thought for a long time.

I loved that book! I agree, I think it's one of the best he ever wrote. My dad, who has read thousands and millions of books over the years, rates it in the top ten. You have very good taste, Ardys! *grins*

It was between Monstrous Regiment and To Kill a Mockingbird--both of which are among my favorite books ever (along with Pride and Prejudice).
